Learn to make "caveman" food accessible--and delicious--in this how-to cooking course dedicated to navigating the Paleo Diet!
The goal of the diet is to eliminate processed foods, grain, and diary, but that does not mean you are limited to only salad and steak night after night. In this class we’ll discuss ways to use fruits, vegetables, and nuts in place of grains, how to create simple, satisfying, healthy high protein dishes, and whip up some great sauces, relishes, and side dishes to go along with traditional Paleo meals.
This class will focus on healthy cooking techniques that are the basis for this lifestyle – minimal oils, no refined sugars, and natural salts. Our chef will also give nutritional insight on the calorie breakdown of the Paleo diet versus the standard American diet (Paleo dieting requires that no more than 30% calories come from carbohydrates, the average diet consists of about 65%). We’ll talk about how to select the best proteins and vegetables (why grass-fed beef, farm raised versus fresh fish, your best seasonal produce bets).
